Remote Learning at Gwyn Jones
The platform that we will use to deliver home learning is Google Classroom. This means that in the eventuality of your child's whole class bubble being sent home to isolate then learning can continue under the direction of the class teacher.
What is Google Classroom?
Google Classroom is a virtual learning environment where the teacher can take the register, deliver teaching through google meets, set assigments, leave messages and provide feedback all in one place. Google Classroom is a free application which allows teachers and students to communicate and can be used to organise and manage learning tasks. It forms part of Google’s G Suite for Education which is used in many secondary and further education settings as it enables distance learning. It has an uncomplicated and user-friendly interface that will help you manage learning at home.
After half term all homework will be set on google classrooms so please take this opportunity to log in and have a look at how the classroom is organised, how to register for attendance and how to submit work.

How to view, complete and submit learning on google classroom
In the event of your childs whole class being sent home to self isolate please check the google classroom platform daily to see new learning which has been set for your child. Some pieces of learning will have a deadline for submission; children should be encouraged to complete the learning by the given dates.
We understand that parents and carers may be concerned about the amount of screen time children are being exposed to already. Assignments can be completed on paper and then a photo of the learning can be submitted on Google Classroom. For tips on how to manage screen time, tap here.
